Many of our team choose to alternate the office they work in to suit personal and client needs.</li><li>As part of our team, you would be working on some of our major projects including Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, Royal Berkshire Hospital and several public and private sector client sites.</li><li>You will be reporting to our Director for Electrical engineering.</li><li>You will be able to utilise graduate, assistant, senior and principal engineers in supporting roles around you, as well as dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists to contribute to your projects.<br><br></li></ul><strong>A Little More About Your Role…<br><br></strong><strong>General<br><br></strong><ul><li>Meeting the requirements of a Technical Director - Electrical grade and have a proven track record in delivering projects for your discipline and in line with client expectations.</li><li>Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice in a WSP project manager capacity on a wide range of projects.</li><li>Work in a joint leadership capacity in a MEP team providing design and technical advice as a WSP project manager on a wide range of projects</li><li>Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function</li><li>Consider the feasibility of the project and lead the overall feasibility study</li><li>Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed/performance specification</li><li>Act as the client’s key point of contact and responsible for overall project delivery in terms of client deliverables and internal KPI’s</li><li>Able to work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs.</li><li>Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.</li><li>Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Business Development<br><br></strong><ul><li>Understand the need to provide excellent client care & the opportunities to develop additional business for the team</li><li>Assist with developing the client relationship to promote new commissions</li><li>Promote WSP’s capabilities and expertise in the region <br><br></li></ul><strong>Management<br><br></strong><ul><li>Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.</li><li>Development and line management of junior staff.</li><li>Regularly brief the project team, explaining the appointment. Ensure contracts/letters of intent are in place for all projects before work starts</li><li>Maintain project overview & understanding of the team workload & associated resource requirements, and work with the team leaders to ensure resources are fully utilised across your associated projects.</li><li>Hold regular team meetings to discuss resourcing, staff issues, H&S, quality, training & development & all other relevant issues, including UK & Board briefs in support of your Discipline’s Team Leader<br><br></li></ul><strong>What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC) </li><li>Have experience working on MEP Building services projects with aviation background <br><br></li></ul><strong>Electrical Design Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Low voltage distribution systems</li><li>Cable calculations via ElectricalOM or Amtech /by hand</li><li>Lighting calculations (via software and by hand)</li><li>Energy lighting</li><li>Small power</li><li>Fire Detection & Alarm</li><li>Intruder detection</li><li>Access control & security systems</li><li>Disabled call systems</li><li>Data cabling and outlets</li><li>Lightning protection<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>BEng/Bsc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline</li><li>CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council Chartership</li><li>RevitMEP training applied to the discipline<br><br></li></ul>Don’t quite meet all the criteria?
