Facilities Assistant - The Role:
Working as part of a team on a seven day rota, you will play a key role in ensuring our buildings and community spaces are safe, clean, and welcoming. You will support the day-to-day operation of facilities across the West Bridgford area, opening and closing buildings, preparing spaces for customers, carrying out minor maintenance, and assisting with room lettings and event support.
Facilities Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Open and close buildings and outdoor spaces in a timely manner, ensuring they are cleaned and prepared to meet customer needs
- Carry out inspections and minor maintenance tasks, reporting significant works required to the manager
- Support the operation of community halls, council offices, sports venues, parks, and playing fields
- Undertake health and safety checks including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and legionella flushing procedures
- Provide customer service during facility viewings and event hirings, liaising with the bookings office
- Manage stock levels, receive deliveries, and liaise with contractors and suppliers
- Respond to out of hours emergency call outs as required
- Undertake administrative duties including emails, meter readings, and usage statistics
- Work flexibly to cover shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Facilities Assistant - You:
- Proactive and self motivated with a practical approach to problem solving
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Confident in prioritising a varied workload and delivering excellent customer service
- Attentive to detail and professional in representing the Council
- Comfortable using computerised systems
- Hold a current driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes
- Able to lift heavy loads and undertake manual duties
