Chat & Text Therapist
Job Description:
- Support callers to the LGBTQIA Call Center who call the suicide hotline
- Provide crisis phone interventions
- Recommend appropriate referrals for available services
- Answer all phone lines in a timely and professional manner
- Assess clinical situations and needs of callers
- Provide safe and effective clinical interventions
- Complete thorough, clear, and accurate clinical documentation for data collection and funder reporting
- Forward internal referrals to appropriate programs with required information
- Collaborate with internal and external clients and customers
- Monitor call-in times for clients placed on a 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up
- Work beyond the scheduled shift when crisis situations warrant or paperwork is incomplete
- Attend required meetings and training, including outside regular shift hours
- Work evening and night hours as required
- Assist the hotline clinical coordinator in training new staff
- Maintain stocked program forms and a clean, organized hotline area
- Complete required reading and projects benefiting Crisis or other departments
- Attend in-person meetings, training, agency activities, and events outside scheduled hours upon request
Requirements:
- Must be an Arizona resident
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the behavioral health field
- Crisis Experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Program Development preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Clear and effective communication
