State Accountant – Centurion – Department Of Finance

What You’ll Do
  • Facilitate the processing of creditor payments within 30 days.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and the authenticity of supporting documents.
  • Prepare and submit paid batches for proper filing.
  • Address queries from service providers promptly.
  • Maintain and prepare monthly creditor accounts and expenditure reports.
  • Track all forms of payments using a payment register.
  • Assist in the preparation of the In-year monitoring report and expenditure documentation.
  • Identify misallocations of funds and assist in preparing budget processes.
  • Manage cash flow effectively.
What You’ll Need
  • A Grade 12/Senior certificate and a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Financial Management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting, and business practices.
  • Familiarity with BAS, LOGIS, and PERSAL systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong multitasking and general administration capabilities.
