SOFTWARE ENGINEER (REMOTE)
Position Purpose:
The Software Engineer is responsible for assisting in developing and designing a product that Home Depot customers and associates will love. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Software Engineers may be involved in product configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring.

Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing backend applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Familiarity with integrating applications with AI/ML tools, APIs, and generative AI platforms.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design principles.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native development practices.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration, deployment, and operational support.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Git-based source code management and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience using Jira for Agile project management, sprint planning, and issue tracking.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Understanding of software development best practices, including testing, code reviews, and secure coding principles.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise applications.
