Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, storage rooms, and external grounds to ensure a safe and organised environment.
- Adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all times.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with construction, installation, and maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and in accordance with training and instructions received.
- Sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage areas following proper stacking procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, tenants, and members of the public on work sites.
- Report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance needs to supervisors without delay to prevent accidents.
Requirements
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues at all times.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when operational needs demand it.
- A clean criminal record may be required for positions at secure premises or government buildings.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team under supervision.
- Previous experience in a general worker, labourer, or construction assistant role is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and complete tasks as directed by supervisors.
