Shopper Marketing Manager

Manpower are currently seeking an interim Shopper Marketing Manager, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 12 months, requiring 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £65,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution strategy, planning and evaluation of impactful shopper marketing campaigns with our retailers, spanning across all our business units.
  • Deliver an insight-led retailer execution plan which builds Unilever brands in the retailer environment and influences shoppers at the point of purchase.
  • Build strong relationships with our retailers, agency partners, account teams and our BU shopper and brand partners.
  • Demonstrate team leadership skills as you will manage a team of Retail Execution executives as well as being part of the Retail Execution leadership team.
  • Develop retailer\'s shopper marketing programme across BU\'s, aligned to the BU Strategy and Shopper JTBD across relevant channels and touchpoints.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of impactful shopper campaigns within the retailer from planning, execution and evaluation.
  • Utilise store visits and retailer data and insight, create a bank of best practices for the retailer/brand on the most effective touchpoints based upon the campaign objectives.
  • Lead the external communication with the retailer, representing the shopper and campaign plans in key external forums.
  • Lead the negotiation of the agency retail media JMP to ensure we have aligned WOW principles and are holding our partners accountable to agreed standards.
  • Define BU/Brand prioritisation of shopper campaigns across the retail execution team and ensure we line-up resource to deliver.
  • Manage the BMI/TMI shopper budgets for the retailer, ensuring campaigns and total plan are forecasted and executed to agreed budget campaigns.
  • Ensure that artwork meets unmissable POS standards and in line with retailer guidelines, aligning with BU shopper leads.
  • Drive industry leading retail media capabilities with retailer agency BMG that result in award winning activations.

Key Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape and know what it takes to ensure Unilever brands are visible and impactful at the key touchpoints on the shopper journey to purchase.
  • Excellent communicator, have strong project management skills and draw on experience in commercial and category/marketing roles.
  • Retail Media (in-store and digital).
  • Understanding of how to build shopper-led campaigns which deliver against key JTBD.
  • Team Leadership including leading and delivering through others.
  • Budget Management.

Additional Information

Occasional UK based travel required to the retailer\'s head office and for meetings in the London office.

Contractors who are based at Kingston will be eligible to get free parking at a local carpark.
