Our client is a leading vehicle tracking and telematics provider operating across Southern Africa and forms part of a JSE-listed technology group. Their Platform Engineering division builds and operates the core technology backbone underpinning real-time fleet management, enterprise resource platforms, and customer-facing digital productsβ€”serving millions of assets and end-users across the continent.

They operate a cloud-native architecture on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) , with continued investment in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure integration services . This role sits at the intersection of enterprise systems integration, cloud-native development, and domain-driven design (DDD) .

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with a strong .NET background to join the Platform Engineering team. This role involves designing and building production-grade microservices, Azure integration workflows, and Dynamics 365 extensions that connect core platforms to enterprise systems.

You will

  • Serve as a technical anchor within your squad
  • Contribute to architecture and design decisions
  • Ensure engineering excellence and standards
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers
Responsibilities Software Design & Delivery
  • Develop microservices and APIs using C# / ASP.NET Core (.NET 8+)
  • Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
  • Implement CQRS and MediatR patterns
  • Build messaging integrations using Azure Service Bus & Event Hubs
  • Develop Dynamics 365 / Dataverse extensions
  • Build and maintain RESTful and OData APIs
Platform & Infrastructure
  • Deploy using Docker & Kubernetes (AKS) with Helm/Kustomize
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Configure Azure infrastructure using IaC principles
  • Monitor applications using Application Insights & OpenTelemetry
  • Participate in production support and incident response
Collaboration & Quality
  • Engage in Agile ceremonies
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce SDLC standards
  • Maintain architecture documentation ( ADRs, Wiki pages )
  • Mentor and guide team members
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and Architecture teams
Required Technical Skills Core .NET Stack
  • C# (5+ years) – modern features (.NET 8+, async/await, records)
  • ASP.NET Core – APIs, middleware, security
  • Entity Framework Core & Dapper
  • Strong experience in DDD, CQRS, MediatR
  • Testing: xUnit/NUnit, Moq/Nsubstitute

  • Power Platform Developer ( PL-400 )
