Job Summary:

This role partners closely with GEICO's Specialty Product Management, Research & Development, Marketing, and Finance teams to support pricing initiatives across Commercial, Personal Umbrella, Motorcycle, Recreational Vehicle, and Boat lines of business. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to develop subject matter expertise across lines of business with unique risks, complications, and opportunities.

The successful candidate will provide thought leadership on complex analytical challenges, collaborate across functions to influence business strategy and decision-making, and lead the development and implementation of solutions to technical pricing problems.

GEICO supports employees who wish to pursue actuarial credentials and offers resources to assist with actuarial exam progression. Actuarial exams are encouraged but are not a requirement for this position.

Compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Management, Research & Development, Marketing, and Finance teams to evaluate the impact of external market and environmental changes on business performance and strategic initiatives.

  • Communicate analytical findings, methodologies, and recommendations clearly to business stakeholders and leadership.

  • Monitor and report on expected loss ratio performance and rate indication trends.

  • Evaluate pricing strategies and customer segmentation opportunities to improve business outcomes.

  • Provide leadership in developing pricing indications and targets while enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and quality of actuarial analyses.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for line-of-business pricing and resolve complex pricing issues as they arise.

  • Lead actuarial analyses, including trend selections, rate indications, and rate filing support.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members while gaining valuable leadership and supervisory experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3 to 7 years of relevant actuarial, pricing, analytics, or related experience.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting statistical analyses and applying quantitative and qualitative methods to solve business problems.

  • Working knowledge of actuarial pricing principles and methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Work Arrangement:

This position may be performed as:

  • A hybrid role based in the Bethesda, MD office, or

  • A fully remote position within the United States.

Annual Salary

$100,450.00 - $212,175.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
