Senior Data Assurance Consultant (6 Week Contract)

<p><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Assurance Consultant to support a critical regulatory reporting, and data controls review within a banking environment for 6 weeks. The role is focused on end-to-end data lineage, data quality and control testing for regulatory reporting and other critical data processes. You will work across source systems, interfaces and downstream applications to validate that data is complete, accurate and controlled from ingestion to regulatory output.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Map and validate end‑to‑end data lineage and flows from source systems, through interfaces and transformations, to final regulatory outputs.</li><li>Design and execute completeness, accuracy and fitness‑for‑purpose tests across end‑to‑end processes (reconciliations, record counts, exception detection).</li><li>Validate system configurations, business rules, mappings, calculations and automated processing/ETL logic used in regulatory reporting.</li><li>Perform data reconciliations, investigate anomalies and variances, conduct root‑cause analysis and recommend/verify remediation actions.</li><li>Assess and test interface and data transfer controls (file integrity, sequencing, record counts, monitoring) and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of manual and automated controls.</li><li>Review regulatory reporting processes and support data governance activities (metadata, data dictionaries, quality frameworks).</li><li>Prepare control test packs, document findings, risks and recommendations, maintain clear issue logs and present results to Data Owners, IT, control and risk stakeholders.</li><li>Support remediation and enhancement programmes to improve data quality, controls and regulatory submission integrity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Experience</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years' experience in Data Assurance, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Risk, Regulatory Reporting, or a related discipline.</li><li>Proven experience within the banking or financial services sector.</li><li>Strong understanding of: </li><li>Data lineage and data flow mapping</li><li>Data quality assessment and testing</li><li>Data reconciliation and exception management</li><li>Regulatory reporting processes</li><li>Data governance frameworks</li><li>Control testing and assurance methodologies</li><li>Root cause analysis</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Experience</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years' experience in Data Assurance, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Risk, Regulatory Reporting, or a related discipline.</li><li>Proven experience within the banking or financial services sector.</li><li>Strong understanding of: Data lineage and data flow mapping, Data quality assessment and testing, Data reconciliation and exception management, Regulatory reporting processes, Data governance frameworks, Control testing and assurance methodologies, and Root cause analysis.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.</li><li>Relevant certifications in Data Management, Data Governance, Risk, Audit, or Analytics will be advantageous.</li></ul>
