Senior Certified Aviation Technician (Avionics) - JHB
<p>Description</p><ul><li>Required to perform various maintenance duties including, but not limited to:</li><li>Conduct line maintenance inspections;</li><li>Conduct routine inspections on various avionics systems on the aircraft;</li><li>Conduct fault finding and rectify based on the fault;</li><li>Perform thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify any potential issues or defects;</li><li>Conduct necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft;</li><li>Adhere to established maintenance procedures and safety standards;</li><li>All activities must be properly recorded and signed off as per SACCA requirements ensuring that all the required legal aspects are complied with;</li><li>Health and Safety requirements must always be complied with to ensure Personal and other Personnel Safety, Fire and Accident/lncident preventions;</li><li>Ensure that the work area, equipment, and tooling are properly maintained and safe prior to starting any job to prevent accidents or incidents to aircraft and staff;</li><li>Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions;</li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Grade 12 or Equivalent Essential;</li><li>Trade Test Certificate Avionics-related, e.g., Avionician, Aircraft Instrument Mechanic, Aircraft Electrician, or Aircraft Radio Technician —SACAA recognised Essential;</li><li>Licensed AME with SACAA WI, W2, W3 Essential;</li><li>B737-800 system courses Essential;</li><li>B737-8MAX system course Advantageous;</li><li>Oxygen course Advantageous;</li><li>Minimum of 15 years aviation maintenance experience Essential Line and SVM experience Essential;</li><li>Previous experience as an Aviation Technician on B737-800 avionics systems Essential;</li><li>Previous experience as an Aviation Technician on B737-8MAX avionics systems Advantageous OJT experience Advantageous;</li><li>Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, including overtime when required;</li><li>Must be available and willing to travel locally/internationally at short notice;</li><li>Valid South-African passport and driver's licence;</li><li>Sound understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation including SWPM;</li><li>Maintain a thorough understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards;</li><li>Good understanding of the Avionics Schematic systems;</li><li>Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting experience on B737-800;</li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint.</li></ul><p><strong>Personal Attributes:</strong></p><ul><li>Analytical thinking;</li><li>Strong communication skills;</li><li>Excellent time-keeping;</li><li>Able to follow instructions as per work instructions;</li><li>Detail orientated;</li><li>Professional;</li><li>High integrity;</li><li>Self-disciplined;</li><li>Ethical;</li><li>Reliable and dependable.</li></ul><p><strong>FlySafair reserves the right:</strong></p><ul><li>Not to proceed with this vacancy;</li><li>To appoint the selected candidates based on its operational requirements. </li></ul><p><strong>Closing Date: 31 August 2026</strong> </p>
