Our company is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to play a key role in designing and developing the backend foundation of a critical platform. Role Purpose

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and building the backend platform foundation, including business rules engines, system integrations, API architecture, and core data models. You will ensure transactional consistency, data integrity, security, and scalability while partnering closely with DevOps and QA teams to deliver robust solutions.

This role requires someone who can confidently navigate complex enterprise environments, quickly understand intricate business processes, and take ownership of backend architecture and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a business rules engine, including rule evaluation, versioning, and configuration management.
  • Develop backend functionality for administration of business rules, audit trails, and approval workflows.
  • Design and implement API integration frameworks and abstraction layers for document processing services.
  • Build and maintain integrations with multiple external systems and service providers.
  • Design scalable and efficient data models supporting various functional instruction types.
  • Develop instruction payload generation and routing mechanisms for downstream systems.
  • Implement region-specific routing logic and processing workflows.
  • Design and maintain immutable audit trails and event logging systems.
  • Ensure transactional consistency and data integrity across complex workflows.
  • Lead backend architectural decisions and contribute to solution design discussions.
  • Mentor development teams on integration patterns, software architecture, and security best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in C# backend development.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale backend systems.
  • Strong experience with API integrations and transactional processing environments.

Technical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of C#, ASP.NET Core, LINQ, Dependency Injection, and Async/Await.
  • Advanced SQL Server expertise including schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and transaction management.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases or document stores.
  • Strong RESTful API design and development experience.
  • Deep understanding of integration patterns, including retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and timeout handling.
  • Experience implementing ACID-compliant transaction processing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of audit trail and event logging architectures.
  • Experience with AWS RDS and cloud-based database services.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, including encryption, secrets management, and input validation.
  • Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
