Science Teacher

Responsibilities
- Identify learners requiring additional academic or emotional support and refer them to appropriate internal or external support structures.
- Assess learner progress through tests, assignments, projects, and oral presentations, maintaining accurate records of achievement.
- Provide regular and constructive feedback to learners on their performance, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities including workshops and self-study to stay current with teaching methodologies.
- Supervise learners during break times, extramural activities, and school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks applicable to the specific grade level or subject area.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic and personal development of every learner in your care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
- Registration with the South African Council for Educators and a valid SACE certificate in good standing.
- Proficiency in using educational technology including interactive whiteboards, learning management systems, and online teaching platforms.
- A recognised teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education degree or Postgraduate Certificate in Education from an accredited institution.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working independently when required.
