SCADA Operations Coordinator - Remote

An established operator within the energy infrastructure sector is seeking a SCADA Monitoring Operator to support the remote monitoring and operational oversight of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical grid-connected assets through advanced monitoring platforms and operational systems.

Working as part of a 24/7 operations function, you will be responsible for monitoring asset performance, responding to alarms, coordinating incident escalation, and supporting operational continuity across a portfolio of energy assets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Battery Energy Storage Systems and associated infrastructure through SCADA and remote monitoring platforms.
  • Perform first-line investigations into alarms, faults, communications issues, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Analyse operational data, event logs, and system trends to support effective incident management.
  • Escalate technical issues and operational risks to engineering and field support teams.
  • Coordinate with technicians, contractors, and operational stakeholders during fault response and recovery activities.
  • Maintain detailed operational logs and ensure accurate shift reporting.
  • Support asset availability, operational performance, and compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Experience within a SCADA monitoring, control room, operations centre, utilities, power generation, industrial operations, or technical support environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational monitoring systems and alarm management.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and respond effectively to changing conditions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to operational procedures.
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Exposure to renewable energy, power generation, substations, transmission, distribution, or grid-connected assets.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote operational technologies.
  • Understanding of operational safety controls and incident escalation procedures.
  • Familiarity with electrical infrastructure and asset performance monitoring.
