Role Purpose/Business Unit The core purpose of this role is to provide high quality reward & benefits guidance and support for operating companies within Vodacom Group. The role works closely with HR and Reward teams in Vodacom Group on reward matters and core reward proceses. The role is also the International Mobility Champion for Vodacom Group.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Responsible for monitoring Remuneration & Benefit Practices and Policies for all operating companies in Vodacom Group.
  • Best practice applied as per local legal conditions; statutory & tax requirements.
  • Ensure consistency with Vodacom Group and Vodafone remuneration strategy.
  • Consulting, development and review of local Remuneration & Benefit practices in Operating Companies.
  • Assistance with Remuneration practices, annual reward review; Short term incentive and Long term incentive schemes.
  • Ensure that Reward and Human Resources practitioners in the OPCO’s have a comprehensive understanding of the Vodacom Reward Strategy and Philosophy and the underlying Reward principles guiding these.
  • Reward support for key reward processes and programs.
  • Support the end to end Vodacom Assignee Management process and act as the International Mobility Champion for Vodacom Group.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure that assignee costs are verified and validated and recorded accurately
  • Manage the entire Vodacom Intra Africa Assignee process.
  • Ensure line managers and HRBP's are fully briefed and trained where applicable on the assignee management process.
  • Training and capability of the HR teams across Vodacom Group on the international mobility process and policies.
  • Maintain an accurate reporting system and ensure that SAP EC records are maintained for assignees.
  • Ensure that the relevant tax support for assignees is in place and act as the contact point for external tax service providers.
  • Responsible for the managing all the Vodacom Group Recogntion programs.
The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have
  • Post Matric qualification – 3 year Degree/Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution in either HR or Finance.
  • 5 – 8 years sound experience in compensation management and/or data analysis.
  • South African Reward Association (SARA) Global Reward Practitioner qualification would be an advantage.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and senior managers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Excellent relationship and project management skills.
  • Excellent influencing skills and credibility at senior level.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise own work as well as that of others.
  • Good working knowledge of employee tax, certain elements of corporate tax and legal compliance requirements of reward.
  • Stays abreast of current trends related to the Rewards & Benefits products and services and anticipates future trends likely to have an impact on the business.
  • Experience in completion and analysis of remuneration surveys available in our markets
  • Experience in using HR databases and other IT systems.
  • Experience in creating and implementing Reward Policies and managing the changes.
  • Experience in reward and benefits in Africa would be advantageous.
  • Experience in international mobility / expatriate management would be advantageous.
  • Experience in job evaluation.
