Job Description The Retirement Benefits Counsellor provides professional retirement benefits counselling, guidance and support to members approaching retirement. The role helps members understand their fund benefits, retirement options and the Default Annuity Strategy selected by the relevant Retirement Fund, enabling them to make informed decisions with confidence and clarity. The Retirement Benefits Counsellor is responsible for delivering high-quality member engagements through one-on-one consultations, retirement readiness initiatives, educational sessions and digital engagement channels. The role contributes to improved member outcomes by providing accurate information, trusted guidance and an exceptional member experience throughout the retirement journey. Core Accountability Areas - Includes but not limited to: Retirement Benefits Counselling Provide professional, compliant and member-focused retirement benefits counselling, helping members understand their retirement options, fund benefits and available support. Member Engagement & Outreach Engage members through retirement readiness programmes, campaigns, webinars, workshops, seminars and individual counselling sessions. Retirement Readiness Support Support members by explaining retirement processes, available options, fund requirements and key considerations throughout the retirement journey. Product Knowledge & Default Annuity Strategy Support Maintain a sound understanding of Old Mutual Corporate's retirement income solutions, annuity products and the products selected within Retirement Fund default annuity strategies. Provide factual and balanced information to support member understanding. Member Enablement Tools & Resources Promote and utilise retirement calculators, digital tools, educational resources and member support platforms to enhance retirement preparedness and understanding. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with employers, HR representatives, financial advisers and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive and consistent member experience. Education and Knowledge Sharing Facilitate member education sessions and actively participate in team learning and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Governance and Quality Assurance Maintain accurate records, adhere to regulatory and fund requirements, and ensure high standards of member service and counselling quality. Key Deliverables Deliver professional retirement benefits counselling that improves member understanding of retirement options and fund benefits. Support members in navigating retirement decisions and related fund processes. Conduct individual and group member engagements professionally and empathetically. Participate in retirement readiness campaigns, workshops, webinars and member education initiatives. Promote the use of retirement planning tools, educational resources and digital support channels. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with governance and quality standards. Build and maintain trusted relationships with members and stakeholders. Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
