Remote Medical Transcription Quality Assurance Specialist

A misread word in a medical record isn't a small thing. It can change how a patient gets treated. This role catches errors before they reach a chart — reviewing transcriptions, flagging what's off, and ensuring the paperwork behind patient care actually holds up. What This Role Covers You'll work fully remote, reviewing medical transcriptions for accuracy, clarity, and security. It's more than proofreading. You're looking for patterns in the errors, building resources that prevent them from recurring, and giving feedback that helps transcribers improve rather than just flagging what's wrong after the fact. Compliance runs through everything. HIPAA, data privacy, security standards — none of that is optional, and part of the job is making sure it never slips. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Auditing medical transcriptions for accuracy, clarity, and compliance Tracking quality metrics and identifying recurring error patterns Providing feedback to transcribers that supports improvement, not just correction Reviewing documentation against HIPAA and data security standards Building and maintaining quality guides, checklists, and reference materials Participating in team meetings to flag issues and shape process changes Working with trainers and tech teams to close gaps in documentation quality What We're Looking For Education: Associate degree, or an equivalent medical transcription certification Experience: 3 years minimum in medical transcription, clinical documentation, or healthcare QA Hands-on time with digital QA tools, audit dashboards, and EHR systems Good at spotting patterns — outliers, recurring issues, that kind of thing Comfortable working remote, communicating clearly over chat and video Solid grip on HIPAA and healthcare data privacy rules Nice to Have Experience training or mentoring transcription staff Familiarity with cloud-based transcription platforms Built internal QA docs or reference libraries before A certification in medical transcription or healthcare documentation How the Team Works Feedback moves fast here — mostly chat and video, not long email chains. Trainers and tech leads actually act on QA input instead of filing it away. People applying through Naukri Mitra sometimes ask whether remote QA input is actually used, and here it is — real conversations decide what gets fixed first. You get flexibility in how you structure your day, as long as reviews and feedback stay on schedule. Compensation and Benefits This role pays $99,500 a year, plus: 100% remote, work from anywhere Flexible hours, built around when you work best Room to grow as your process fixes shape team standards Real, visible impact on documentation quality every month What Good Work Looks Like Here Error rates trend down because issues are caught early rather than fixed after the fact. New transcribers ramp up faster because the resources you built actually get used. Over time, the team starts treating you as a partner, not just someone checking boxes. Who Fits This Role This works well for someone who's spent real time with medical records, not just training manuals — someone who notices small inconsistencies and wants to fix the underlying process, not just flag one file at a time. If you'd rather build a system that prevents errors than keep correcting the same ones, this is your kind of work. Ready to Apply? Got a background in medical transcription or healthcare QA? If you want your attention to detail to actually shape how a team works, send in your application. Include your experience with QA tools, EHR systems, and any certifications you hold. This position is open to remote applicants worldwide, including the United States, India, and other eligible regions.
