Post School Success Associate
Job Description:
- Hold office hours for one-on-one consultations with students about career options, college/university applications, and post-school options
- Support students and families through local university/college applications
- Guide students through international applications, standardized testing, essays, personal statements, and required documents
- Guide students and parents through financial aid applications
- Follow up with recommenders and facilitate submission of school documents
- Liaise with university representatives and Universities South Africa
- Manage admission offers and inquiries on the Concourse Global platform
- Facilitate National Benchmark Test registrations
- Maintain relationships with university partners
- Guide Grade 11 students on career selection, university lists, and alternative plans
- Run pathway workshops and track pathway selections
- Oversee SAT preparation and registration support
- Provide pathway information and future-planning support to Grades 8–10 students and families
- Support course selection and future planning with school academic leadership
- Support SEL and Leadership Teachers with post-school success resources
- Identify and share student success stories and opportunities across Nova Pioneer teams
- Track alumni and support cross-regional alumni learning
- Update the internal database and track progress toward goals
- Send monthly process updates and attend bimonthly meetings with the Director of Schools
- Communicate with parents about students’ post-school success progress
- Coordinate with School Leaders and Deans on student schedules, essays, recommendations, and testing
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of a Bachelor's Degree in Education Management, College Counselling, Psychology, or a related course
- 3+ years of experience in college counseling in a secondary school or after-high-school program
- Familiarity with the international tertiary education space
- Experience guiding students applying to tertiary institutions abroad
- Knowledge of local tertiary education pathways
- Knowledge of research on the future of work
- Experience working with adolescents and youth and building professional relationships for mentorship and guidance
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across teams and organizations
- Strategic thinking and ability to translate ideas into action
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and targets
- Problem-solving skills and proactive issue resolution
- Knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and Cambridge progression pathways
