Job Description

As a Plant Operative you will find that no two nights are the same, with state-of-the-art sortation equipment and all the tools required to do the job efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Monitoring and policing parcel compliance in the hub, ensuring all items meet size and weight regulations.
  • Clearing induct and sorter blockages promptly to maintain smooth operations.
  • Working to improve Hub KPIs, including throughput rates and accuracy metrics.
  • Escalating issues to management in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Utilising good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Maintaining a proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
  • Strictly adhering to company Health and Safety Policies at all times.
  • Supporting the hub operation as and when required, including assisting in other areas during peak periods.
  • Ensuring the work area is kept clean, tidy, and hazard-free throughout the shift.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet nightly targets and deadlines.
  • Adapting to changing priorities and workloads during busy periods or unforeseen circumstances.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation, crucial for maintaining high performance standards
  • High attention to detail, essential for accurate parcel handling and processing
  • Good organisational skills to effectively manage workload and meet operational targets
  • Demonstrated ability to perform efficiently under high-pressure situations and strict deadlines
  • Flexibility, willingness and capability to adapt to various roles within the warehouse environment as operational needs dictate
  • Physical capacity to lift, load, and carry items weighing up to 25kg on a regular basis
  • Some understanding of Health and Safety practices within a warehouse setting would be advantageous
