Everyone belongs at our table, and together, we make every night a Big Night. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Title: </strong>Part Time, Shop Associate </p><p><strong>Department: </strong>Retail </p><p><strong>Reports to: </strong>Head of Operations </p><p><strong>Location: </strong>On-Site </p><p><strong>Hourly Range:</strong> $21-23/hour </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Overview </strong></p><p><br></p><p>We’re looking to add a part-time shop associate to work across our Greenpoint, West Village and UES stores. The position will be primarily a shopkeep/sales associate role, but there is ample opportunity for additional responsibility and development that comes with helping us grow Big Night, depending on our hire’s interest and expertise. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Learning about each and every food, home item, and maker represented in Big Night in order to share recommendations and more information about each with customers. </li><li>Ensuring our pantry, fridge and home goods displays remain organized + aesthetically pleasing throughout the day.</li><li>Receiving inventory from vendors, unboxing goods, inputting into our inventory management system, printing and placing barcodes on goods.</li><li>Pulling & packing inventory for transfers to other stores or our warehouse as needed. </li><li>Pulling inventory for web photoshoots or events. </li><li>Fulfilling ship to customer orders allocated to ship from the store you’re working from that day. </li><li>Ensure opening and closing procedures are properly completed (such as: cleaning floors, wiping down surfaces, box breakdown and garbage removal). </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Interest in/passion for food, design, cooking, and/or retail.</li><li>Desire to learn and share deep product knowledge.</li><li>Prior experience in a retail, hospitality, or service environment is a plus.</li><li>Proactive problem-solving, and ability to think on your feet and keep calm under pressure in a high-traffic environment.</li><li>Desire to engage with customers and help create and maintain a positive, joyful, inclusive shop environment for all customers and staff. </li><li>Care for details, and maintaining our store’s look, feel, and cleanliness.</li><li>Strong belief that teamwork really does make the dream work – our small but mighty staff works very closely together and we depend on one another to ensure that Big Night is at its best, always.</li><li>Ability to be prompt to scheduled shifts. </li><li>Ability to carry boxes over 15lbs. </li><li>Comfortable to work in the shop by yourself in the rare instances that this is required.</li></ul>
