Northamptonshire Children's Services is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with a strong background in Children with Disabilities work to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families.
As a valued member of the Children with Disabilities Team, you will work with children and young people across Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care frameworks, ensuring robust assessments, effective planning, and the delivery of tailored support packages that meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities.
  • Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care work in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments of need and risk.
  • Arrange, monitor, and review care packages and short break provisions.
  • Work closely with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to effective care planning.
  • Liaise with education, health, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support.
  • Maintain accurate case records and high-quality reports.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure all interventions are child-focused and outcome-driven.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Experience within a Children with Disabilities Team is essential.
  • Experience working with Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care cases.
  • Strong assessment, care planning, and risk management skills.
  • Experience in the provision and review of care packages and short breaks.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and report-writing skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
