Nongoma Municipality Financial Management Internship Programme 2026 Nongoma Local Municipality is recruiting two Financial Management Interns for placement within its Finance Department. Successful candidates will be appointed on two-year fixed-term contracts and will receive workplace exposure across different areas of municipal financial management. The programme also includes participation in learning and development activities aligned with the Municipal Finance Management Act. A minimum NQF Level 6 qualification. A qualification in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or Management Accounting. An equivalent qualification with Accounting as a major. At least Level 3 Accounting where applicable. Good verbal communication skills. Good written communication skills. Computer literacy. An age between 18 and 35 years. Applicants should ensure that their academic documents clearly reflect the relevant Accounting or Finance subjects. Complete assignments and duties allocated by supervisors. Municipal Finance Management Training The internship is intended to provide practical exposure to municipal financial-management activities. The learning and development component will be undertaken in terms of the Municipal Finance Management Act. Participants may therefore gain experience in areas connected to municipal budgeting, accounting, financial administration and related finance functions, depending on placement and operational requirements. Internship Duration The internship will run for two years. Successful applicants will be appointed on fixed-term contracts for the programme period. The internship does not automatically guarantee permanent employment after completion. Internship Salary Successful interns will receive a basic salary of R100 000 per annum.
