New Business Executive

Our client is seeking an experienced New Business Executive to join their team based in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with a strong background in business finance, secured lending, and new client acquisition.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong new business pipeline through direct lead generation, onboarding new clients, and structuring appropriate lending solutions within established credit and risk frameworks. This role requires a target-driven individual who can deliver exceptional sales performance while building long-term client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets within a head-office environment, strong knowledge of lending products, and the ability to understand client requirements and provide tailored financial solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong new business sales pipeline through proactive lead generation and relationship development.
  • Achieve individual product sales targets and maintain strong utilisation levels across active clients.
  • Source, structure, and close new lending transactions in line with product requirements and risk parameters.
  • Identify and develop new business channels to support growth objectives.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and client engagement through to deal closure.
  • Understand customer needs, challenges, opportunities, and business practices to deliver suitable lending solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Work closely with internal credit, operations, finance, and sales teams to ensure efficient deal execution.
  • Ensure accurate CRM management, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Ensure compliance with credit, legal, operational risk, and documentation requirements, including FICA.
  • Represent the organisation’s brand, values, and products professionally at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ proven experience achieving sales targets within a head-office business development role.
  • Strong knowledge of business lending, secured lending products, and financial solutions.
  • Experience within trade finance, working capital finance, or commercial lending will be advantageous.
  • Understanding of credit risk, legal risk, and operational risk frameworks.
  • Experience analysing business financial statements and structuring lending solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of the credit lifecycle and lending approval processes.
  • Proven ability to generate new business through cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of client financial needs.
