Medical Science Liaison (MSL)- Cardiometabolic Health

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE To provide high-quality, state-of-the-art medical and scientific expertise, deliver actionable insights to local and international stakeholders and support Aspen’s Medical Affairs strategy, aligned with alliance partners. The MSL role is a field-based position for the cardiometabolic therapeutic area within Medical Affairs, focused on building trusted peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals by communicating cutting-edge scientific information, delivering medical education as well as providing feedback and actionable insights internally.

The role ensures alignment with Aspen's strategic objectives by advancing the therapeutic area's scientific platform, supporting stakeholders through training and enhancing patient outcomes through evidence-based scientific exchange.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a deep scientific and clinical understanding of assigned Cardiometabolic health and related product portfolio.
  • Engage in high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange with healthcare professionals (HCPs)
  • Communicate complex and cutting-edge scientific data clearly and accurately to a variety of audiences.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in accordance with company policies and compliance standards.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future KOLs, scientific experts, study groups, and research sites.
  • Develop and execute local KOL engagement plans aligned with the medical strategy.
  • Respond to KOL requests for scientific information.
  • Capture, analyse, and communicate actionable field insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Medical Advisor in developing and executing local medical tactics.
  • Execute scientific engagement plans aligned with annual MSL objectives and KPIs.
  • Deliver targeted internal medical training (e.g., congress highlights, study updates, emerging data).
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams and committees as required.
  • Support Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISS) in line with internal policies.
  • Identify and recommend potential clinical trial sites for Aspen’s partners clinical trails in conjunction with clinical development organisations.
  • Implement and support high-quality medical education programs and scientific meetings.
  • Attend and support international, regional, and local congresses.
  • Develop and submit accurate qualitative and quantitative activity reports.
  • Monitor competitor scientific activity and relevant market developments.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Approximately 80% field-based travel.
  • Ensure regular engagement with Field Medical Excellence Lead.
Educational Requirements
  • Essential is a degree in Medicine or a degree in life-sciences.
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MSc) preferred or a demonstrated equivalent experience and scientific experience
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as MSL in Medical Affairs, academia, clinical practice/research or related scientific field.
  • Experience with clinical research and study management.
  • Established network of scientific or clinical contacts is advantageous.
  • Possesses valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
