Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive systems using CAD software. Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Perform basic engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production. Support prototype testing and validation activities, documenting results. Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and customer specifications. Troubleshoot mechanical design issues and propose effective solutions. Maintain design documentation and revision control. Stay informed about new technologies and trends in automotive mechanical design. Assist in the development of technical reports and presentations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive sector. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Basic understanding of automotive components and systems. Familiarity with materials science and manufacturing processes. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Eagerness to learn and develop skills in automotive engineering. Must be eligible to work in South Africa.
