Management Accountant - Fully Remote

UK SME BUSINESS EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

Our client is looking for an experienced Management Accountant with strong UK SME business experience. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts, financial reporting and analysis to support effective business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Analyse financial performance, variances, trends and key business metrics.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, journals and month-end processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, income, expenditure and working capital.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants/auditors.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and compliant with relevant UK requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • Support senior management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven Management Accounting experience within a UK SME business – ESSENTIAL.
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting practices and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
  • Excellent understanding of reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
