About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior/Mid-Level Sales and IT Technician to join our busy computer retail store in Somerset West. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both sales and technology, and who is passionate about helping customers find the right IT solutions for their needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling computer hardware, software, peripherals and IT services, while also providing technical support, installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Assist customers in-store, telephonically, and via email.
  • Promote and sell computer hardware, software, peripherals, networking equipment, and IT services.
  • Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Meet sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

Technical Duties

  • Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop computers.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Windows and related software.
  • Perform hardware upgrades and software installations.
  • Troubleshoot networking, printer, and connectivity issues.
  • Conduct basic on-site support when required.
  • Prepare new computers for deployment.
  • Assist with data backups and migrations.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience in IT support, computer sales, or a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
  • A passion for technology and learning new skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products.
  • Knowledge of printers, CCTV, networking, and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Experience building and upgrading PCs.
  • Previous retail sales experience.
  • Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, N+, Microsoft, etc.) will be advantageous.
