Junior Accounting Support Professional

Introduction

We are looking for a detail-oriented and deadline-driven Afrikaans Speaking Junior Accounting Support Professional to join a fast-paced finance team in Johannesburg City Deep.

The successful candidate will provide support across debtors, creditors, reconciliations, cashbook processing, month-end activities and general accounting administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile debtor invoices.
  • Prepare and distribute debtor statements and age analysis reports.
  • Follow up on outstanding debtors and assist with debt recovery.
  • Assist with managing debtor terms and limits.
  • Match supplier invoices to contracts and process creditor transactions.
  • Perform creditor account reconciliations and clear outstanding accounts.
  • Process daily invoices, purchases and orders.
  • Capture and reconcile petty cash.
  • Assist with month-end journals and financial reconciliations.
  • Raise intercompany invoices and reconcile control accounts.
  • Assist with management reporting and management packs.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations.
  • Process daily cashbook and banking transactions.
  • Allocate cash receipts accurately.
  • Perform daily general ledger and clearing account reconciliations.
  • Resolve finance-related queries as required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric or equivalent is essential.
  • Accounting Diploma or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in an Accounting or Bookkeeping role.
  • Financial system knowledge, such as Accpac PJC or similar, will be beneficial.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Deadline-driven and able to work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
