IT Technician - Manufacturing Industry

Introduction

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Randburg, is looking for a hands-on and proactive IT Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys providing technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of business systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-line technical support to end users.
  • Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network-related issues.
  • Administer and support Windows operating systems and Microsoft environments.
  • Configure and maintain LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers and wireless connectivity.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and security policies.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, updates and backups.
  • Assist with server administration and infrastructure support.
  • Maintain IT asset registers and technical documentation.
  • Ensure minimal downtime by responding promptly to IT incidents.
  • Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers when required.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and IT projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • A+ Certification (Compulsory).
  • Network+ Certification (Compulsory).
  • MCSE Certification (Advantageous).
  • 3–5 years' experience as an IT Technician in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Strong networking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting servers, workstations and business applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.

Package & Remuneration

R20 000 – R30 000 per month
