Who we are

Panmure Liberum is the UK's largest independent Investment Bank. We provide a full-service Investment Banking offering including capital raising and advisory, as well as distribution, research and execution services. We deliver excellence and foster real and lasting relationships with our clients – priding ourselves on being straight-talking, loyal and innovative in addressing their needs.

The Role

Panmure Liberum is looking for an HR Intern to join the team for an eight-week placement over the autumn, supporting the 2027 Summer Internship recruitment cycle and two key HR events, as well as the team's broader day-to-day HR operations. This is a hands-on role at a busy, high-visibility time of year, ideal for someone who is organised, comfortable with detail-heavy work, and keen to get first-hand exposure to HR operations inside a City investment bank, across recruitment and the team's wider day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

  • Filter and organise CV applications for our internship programme
  • Support the set-up of the BambooHR portal, the team's core HR operations system, including delegating applications to relevant reviewers
  • Sort and collate data for key recruitment statistics, giving you visibility of the numbers that shape hiring decisions
  • Respond to queries via the Careers mailbox during peak application periods, often the first point of contact for candidates
  • Help organise and prepare first-stage interviews
  • Manage applications, planning and queries for a key recruitment event
  • Support delivery of another HR event during the placement
  • Assist with ad hoc data requests from across the wider HR team
  • Help prepare packs and slides for Graduate onboarding
  • Support the team's AI set-up, helping shape how HR uses new tools
  • Gain exposure and ad hoc support with ongoing HR projects
Requirements
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail, particularly when working with large volumes of data or applications
  • Confidence using Excel or similar tools for sorting and analysing data
  • Clear, professional written communication, comfortable handling queries via email
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines during busy periods
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck into varied tasks
  • Discretion when handling confidential applicant and candidate information
  • An interest in HR, recruitment, or financial services more broadly
This internship will begin on 14 September 2026 and end on 13 November 2026. Please only apply if you are available for the full period.
