Vodafone has recently completed a significant business transformation programme across Finance, Supply Chain and HR operations, enabling approximately 140,000 users globally on a unified solution. In this context, user access management is critical to business continuity and compliance.

The Global

Roles, Governance & Compliance (RGC) team, based in Pune, oversees role design and user access controls for the EVO SAP system. The SAP Role Designer is responsible for ensuring that access is designed in alignment with the Core Business Model and complies with global policies and standards. This role acts as the RGC representative within the EVO demand process, collaborating with system integrators and global stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, compliant SAP role designs. The individual supports role design, build, testing and deployment while contributing to continuous improvement in user access management practices.

What you will do
  • Analyse solutions provided by system integrators to ensure full compliance with user access security standards
  • Design, build and test consistent global SAP roles for EVO systems aligned with best practices

  • Ensure all roles are documented and maintained within the EVO SAP Roles Catalogue
  • Validate that user access processes comply with Global IT controls, SOX requirements and internal policies
  • Act as a point of contact for global teams to resolve role-related issues and support enhancements

  • Collaborate with project managers and integrators to ensure security requirements are delivered across all demands
  • Contribute to testing activities and support go-live readiness for role deployments
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support the advancement of security governance practices

What skills you need
  • Extensive experience (612 years) in SAP implementation and support across modules such as R/3, HANA, BI, HR, EP, MDM, SRM, CRM, PI and SuccessFactors

  • Strong understanding of SAP role design and authorisation concepts
  • Ability to convert functional specifications into secure SAP role configurations
  • Knowledge of GRC, Segregation of Duties (SoD), SOX and IT controls

  • Experience managing or contributing to end-to-end implementation or upgrade projects
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with techno-functional understanding
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks while maintaining a strong focus on quality
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
