Graduate Junior Field Engineer Support
Description
SITA is recruiting recent graduates for a 12-month Junior Field Engineer Support programme within its Professional Field Services function. The graduate will provide technical support to airline customers and help maintain IT infrastructure and service operations at Johannesburg Airport. The role reports to the Senior Technical Support Specialist and may lead to consideration for permanent opportunities, depending on business requirements and individual performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
- Manage incidents and work towards timely service restoration.
- Help maintain compliance with service-level agreements.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot desktops, printers and network devices.
- Conduct preventive and proactive equipment maintenance.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues with clear documentation.
- Provide on-site support during service cutovers and transitions.
- Collaborate with local and international colleagues.
- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
- Update equipment and inventory information.
- Participate in relevant corporate and aviation-technology projects.

Requirements
- A qualification in:
- Information Technology.
- Computer Science.
- An equivalent or related field.
- Basic knowledge of IT support for desktops, computers, printers and network devices.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Strong interest in technical support and service operations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
The following certifications will be advantageous:
- CompTIA A+.
- CompTIA Network+.
