Full-Time Nanny and After-School Care Provider
About the Role Our client, a busy family residing in Soweto, Gauteng , is seeking a reliable and caring Full-Time Nanny to provide comprehensive care for their two children, aged 6 and 9. This position focuses primarily on after-school care, homework assistance, and ensuring the children's safety and engagement until the parents return. The ideal candidate will be responsible, energetic, and have a genuine passion for working with school-aged children. Key duties include picking up children from school, supervising homework, planning engaging recreational activities, preparing light meals or snacks, and ensuring a safe and nurturing home environment. The family is looking for someone trustworthy and proactive to become an integral part of their children's lives. This role is based in Soweto and offers a stable, full-time opportunity for a dedicated caregiver. Key Responsibilities Pick up children from school and escort them home safely. Supervise and assist with homework completion, ensuring tasks are done accurately and on time. Plan and organize engaging after-school activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor play. Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for the children. Ensure the children's safety and well-being until parents return home. Maintain a tidy and organized environment for the children. Communicate regularly with parents about the children's day, homework progress, and any concerns. Manage children’s routines, including tidying up after activities and preparing for the next day. Provide a positive and supportive presence for the children. Administer basic first aid if necessary. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as a nanny or in a childcare role, preferably with school-aged children. Demonstrated ability to assist with homework and educational activities. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for school pick-ups and activities. First Aid and CPR certification required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, responsible, and energetic personality. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Trustworthy and reliable individual with a strong work ethic.
