Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Clerical Agents to join our dynamic Cargo Operations team. In this vital clerical role, you will support the smooth running of our cargo function by processing import and export shipments, customs clearances, managing invoicing and providing essential customer service to Swissport stakeholders. You will work closely with our warehouse operations to ensure flights and trucks are processed on time ensuring a varied and engaging workday.

The role will be based at Swissport Cargo,

Cardiff Airport, Cargo Terminal, Barry CF62 3BD, United.

Responsibilities

Day to day you will be responsible for:

  • Acceptance of high value goods such as radioactive goods, live animals or dangerous cargo
  • Duties including but not limited to greeting clients and visitors, answering telephone queries and responding to emails
  • Comply with all relevant legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements
  • Comply with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Additional warehouse duties as required
  • Basic Customs Clearance Process
  • Invoicing
  • Processing import and export trucks and flights to specific deadlines

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need to be or have:

  • Have the ability to get to the World Freight Terminal by 07:00 and 19:00
  • In possession of at least three GCSE’s or equivalent
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be IT literate and able to learn airline specific computer systems
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
  • Able to demonstrate good customer service
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Self motivated and able to work independently
  • Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired
  • Have good organisational skills and demonstrate excellent attention to detail

Salary: GBP 22000 - 26000 per year
