About the Role Our client is a reputable engineering firm looking for a talented Civil Design Engineer specializing in transportation infrastructure to join their growing practice in Tembisa, Gauteng . You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from conceptual design and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction support. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed designs for transportation infrastructure, including highways, arterial roads, intersections, and public transport facilities. Prepare geometric design, drainage design, and pavement design components for road projects. Conduct traffic analysis, capacity assessments, and transportation modeling. Produce engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation using relevant design software. Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other consultants to coordinate design efforts and obtain approvals. Undertake site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress. Ensure designs comply with national and international engineering standards and best practices. Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. or Candidate Engineer is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering and road design. Proficiency in transportation design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MXRoads, or similar. Experience with traffic simulation software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA) is advantageous. Strong understanding of road design principles, traffic engineering, and geometric design. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
