Business Development Specialist (French Speaking) - Johannesburg, South Africa

Role Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in driving growth and strengthening Western Union's presence across East Africa, including Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros, and Seychelles. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding our retail and digital footprint, and building strong partnerships that help deliver exceptional customer experiences. Working across sales, marketing, operations, and compliance teams, you'll help shape strategies that support sustainable growth while enhancing our market position and customer reach.

  • Drive revenue growth by maximizing performance across existing retail agent networks.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to expand Western Union's retail presence and digital offerings across the region.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that strengthen competitiveness and support business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including strategic partners and agents.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and compliance teams to support key business initiatives and ensure operational excellence.
  • Identify new business opportunities and strategic partnerships that contribute to long-term growth.
  • Support the delivery of innovative customer solutions that enhance engagement and strengthen customer loyalty.

Role Requirements

  • Fluent French and English language skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple markets.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, revenue expansion, or market development.
  • Experience managing commercial partnerships, agent networks, or customer-facing business relationships.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into results.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where initiative and ownership are valued.
