A respected logistics solutions provider is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across Sea Freight, Air Freight, Imports & Exports, and Road Freight Solutions.

This role is ideal for a true hunter someone who thrives on opening doors, developing strategic partnerships, and consistently exceeding sales targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

As the face of the business, you will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, securing new clients, and expanding existing customer relationships across a broad logistics portfolio.

You'll work closely with operational teams to provide tailored freight solutions while positioning yourself as a trusted advisor within the logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business acquisition across Sea Freight, Air Freight, Road Freight, Courier, and 3PL services.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell integrated logistics solutions.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to grow market share and increase revenue.
  • Conduct customer needs analyses and provide customised freight forwarding solutions.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service-level agreements.
  • Monitor Sea and Air shipments while providing proactive communication and service updates to clients.
  • Analyse market trends, customer activity, and competitor movements to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure exceptional client experiences.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Essential)
  • 3–4 years' proven Business Development experience within:

    • Freight Forwarding
    • Sea Freight
    • Air Freight
    • Imports & Exports
    • Road Freight or Courier Services

  • Proven track record of achieving new business sales targets.
  • Established network within the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping, freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Parcel Perfect (Advantageous)
  • Power BI (Advantageous)
  • Exposure to AI-driven sales or reporting tools will be advantageous.
