Bookkeeper (Xero) - Fully Remote

Our client, a growing accountancy practice, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to support a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with multiple clients, maintaining accurate financial records, and collaborating with senior accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate books and records for multiple clients using Xero , including chart of accounts setup and ongoing reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Manage bank feeds and supplier invoices.
  • Prepare VAT returns for manager review using client records.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly management reports for clients.
  • Liaise with clients, management, and team members to obtain source documentation and improve efficiencies through Xero technology.
  • Support senior accountants with year-end workpapers and tax preparation.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate bookkeeping discrepancies or compliance concerns.
Requirements
  • Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accounting practice, advisory firm, or multi-client environment .
  • Approximately 2–3 years' bookkeeping experience .
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero (Xero Certification highly advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of VAT and core accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
