B2B Marketing Lead

Shape the story. Enable growth. Help build one of South Africa's leading HR technology businesses.

At Simplify, we build software that helps organisations hire better, onboard faster and manage their teams more effectively.

For more than 25 years, we've been helping South African organisations connect with great talent. Today, we're building the next chapter of that story through a growing suite of HR technology products that simplify hiring, onboarding and employee management.

We're looking for a hands-on B2B Marketing Lead who can help bring that story to life.

This isn't a role where ideas sit in presentations waiting for someone else to execute them. It's for someone who enjoys building. Someone who loves understanding customers, shaping product messaging, enabling sales, supporting partners and seeing their work translate into measurable business growth.

If you enjoy turning complex ideas into simple, compelling stories, we'd love to meet you.

THIS IS THE SPACE YOU ARE STEPPING INTO

Simplify is a small team with big ambitions.

Ideas are welcomed. Curiosity is encouraged. People are trusted to take ownership and make things happen.

We challenge thinking, not people. Good ideas can come from anyone, regardless of title or how long they've been here. If you enjoy solving problems, asking "what if?", learning quickly and having a genuine influence on the business, you'll probably feel at home here.

You'll work closely with product, sales, customer success and leadership. There are very few layers between a good idea and making it happen.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Marketing at Simplify isn't measured by how many campaigns we launch.

It's measured by the conversations we create, the trust we build and the commercial outcomes we help achieve.

Success in this role means:

  • Generating a consistent flow of qualified opportunities for the sales team
  • Strengthening the Simplify brand within the South African HR technology market
  • Helping customers clearly understand our products and why they matter
  • Equipping our sales team and partners with the tools and messaging to win more business
  • Creating marketing systems that continue delivering value over time
  • Using customer insight and data to continually improve how we position, communicate and grow

WHERE YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Shape How the Market Understands Simplify

You'll help define how customers understand Simplify, our products and the problems we solve.

Working closely with product, sales and customers, you'll translate features into customer value, technical capability into compelling messaging and market insight into stronger positioning.

Your work may include

  • Product positioning and messaging
  • Website and product content
  • Feature launches and release communications
  • Customer stories and case studies
  • Thought leadership and educational content
  • Presentations and marketing collateral
  • Brand messaging and visual consistency
Your goal is simple: make it easy for customers to understand why Simplify is the right choice.

Enable Better Sales ConversationsMarketing doesn't stop when a lead is generated.

You'll work closely with our sales team to help create better conversations throughout the buying journey.

This could include

  • Sales enablement resources
  • Product one-pagers
  • ROI messaging
  • Competitive positioning
  • Customer presentations
  • Objection handling resources
  • Industry insights and supporting content

You'll constantly ask

"What would help our customers make better buying decisions?"

Help Our Partners SucceedOne of Simplify's key growth channels is our reseller and strategic partner network.

You'll help partners confidently introduce, position and market Simplify by creating the tools, content and resources that support them throughout the customer journey.

This could include

  • Partner marketing toolkits
  • Co-branded campaigns
  • Product education
  • Webinar content
  • Sales collateral
  • Customer success stories
  • Product updates and launch communications
Your goal is to make it easy for partners to represent Simplify with confidence.

Bring New Products and Features to MarketAs our platform evolves, you'll help ensure new products and features are launched thoughtfully and communicated effectively.

You'll work closely with product and sales to:

  • Understand customer needs
  • Refine product messaging
  • Develop launch material
  • Support go-to-market activities
  • Gather customer and market feedback
  • Continuously improve how we position our products
You'll become one of the people who best understands the connection between what we build and why customers buy.

DRIVE COMMERCIAL GROWTHMarketing is ultimately about helping the business grow.

You'll use insight, experimentation and data to continually improve how we attract, engage and convert customers.

Some initiatives you'll execute yourself. Others you'll coordinate with specialist partners or agencies.

The important part isn't who creates the asset or launches the campaign. It's making sure every marketing activity contributes to stronger customer understanding, better sales conversations and sustainable commercial growth.

THE PERSON WHO WILL THRIVE HERE

You'll probably enjoy this role if you:

  • Enjoy understanding how products solve real customer problems
  • Naturally think about positioning, messaging and customer experience
  • Like working across product, sales and customer success
  • Enjoy building things rather than simply maintaining them
  • Are equally comfortable writing copy, creating presentations and analysing performance
  • Take ownership and enjoy turning ideas into action
  • Are commercially curious and enjoy understanding what drives customer decisions
  • Believe the best marketing helps people make better decisions

EXPERIENCE THAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED

We're looking for someone with:

  • A qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • 3–5 years' experience in B2B marketing within a SaaS, software or technology environment
  • Experience developing product messaging, marketing content or sales enablement material
  • Experience supporting lead generation and customer acquisition
  • Excellent writing, communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience using CRM, marketing automation and analytics platforms
  • Confidence using AI tools to improve research, content creation and productivity
  • A genuine curiosity about technology, customers and markets

SHOW US HOW YOU THINK

We're interested in what you've built.

Please include examples of work that demonstrate both your thinking and your execution, such as:

  • Product or brand messaging you've developed
  • Campaigns or go-to-market initiatives you've delivered
  • Content you've written
  • Sales or partner enablement material
  • Customer stories or case studies
  • Product launches or feature marketing
  • Presentations, landing pages or email journeys
Where possible, tell us:The objective – What were you trying to achieve? The audience – Who were you trying to reach?Your contribution – What did you personally create, own or deliver? The outcome – What changed because of your work?

THIS ROLE PROBABLY ISN'T FOR YOU IF...

  • You prefer managing marketing from a distance rather than staying close to the work
  • You need every step mapped out before taking action
  • You enjoy maintaining the status quo more than building something better
  • You're more interested in producing marketing activity than creating measurable business impact

READY TO BUILD SOMETHING MEANINGFUL?

This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of an established South African technology business.

You'll have the freedom to influence strategy, the ownership to make things happen and the satisfaction of seeing your work directly contribute to our growth.

If this excites you, we'd love to hear from you!
