AWS BI / Amazon Quick Sight Developer

We are seeking an experienced AWS BI / Amazon QuickSight Developer with strong Qlik expertise to support a key business intelligence migration initiative within a large retail organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in migrating approximately three to four complex Qlik applications to Amazon QuickSight. This will involve analyzing existing Qlik solutions, rebuilding data models and business logic within QuickSight, recreating dashboards and visualizations, and ensuring the migrated solutions meet business and technical requirements. This role requires a hands-on BI professional who can work independently, engage directly with business stakeholders, and take ownership of delivering high-quality migration outcomes.Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Analyses existing Qlik applications, dashboards, and data models to understand business requirements and reporting logic. </li> <li>Migrate complex Qlik applications and dashboards to Amazon QuickSight. </li> <li>Rebuild and optimize data models, calculations, metrics, and reporting structures within the AWS environment. </li> <li>Develop, test, and deploy Amazon QuickSight dashboards and visualizations. </li> <li>Validate migrated QuickSight solutions against existing Qlik applications to ensure accuracy and consistency. </li> <li>Collaborate with business users and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve migration challenges. </li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve reporting performance, usability, and scalability during migration. </li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, and reporting issues. </li> <li>Maintain documentation of migration processes, business rules, data models, and technical designs. </li> <li>Proactively identify, communicate, and escalate risks that may impact project delivery timelines or quality. </li> <li>Support user acceptance testing and business sign-off activities. </li></ul>Requirements Required Technical Skills Essential <ul> <li>Strong experience with Amazon QuickSight development and dashboard design. </li> <li>Solid understanding of AWS data and analytics services. </li> <li>Strong experience working with QlikView and/or Qlik Sense. </li> <li>Experience building and maintaining BI dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions. </li> <li>Strong SQL and data analysis skills. </li> <li>Experience translating business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions. </li> <li>Understanding of data modelling concepts and reporting best practices. </li></ul>Highly Preferred <ul> <li>Previous experience migrating Qlik applications or dashboards to Amazon QuickSight. </li> <li>Experience working in enterprise-scale BI migration projects. </li> <li>Exposure to AWS data services such as: <ul> <li>Amazon Redshift </li> <li>AWS Glue </li> <li>Amazon S3 </li> <li>Athena </li> <li>Lambda </li> </ul> </li> <li>Retail industry experience. </li></ul>Essential Experience & Qualifications <ul> <li>4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Reporting Development. </li> <li>Proven experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions in Amazon QuickSight. </li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with Qlik platforms (Qlik Sense and/or QlikView). </li> <li>Demonstrated experience working on reporting migrations or BI platform transformation initiatives. </li> <li>Experience working with large and complex datasets. </li> <li>Relevant certifications in AWS, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics would be advantageous. </li></ul>Key Competencies Business Intelligence & Analytics <ul> <li>Strong understanding of BI development methodologies. </li> <li>Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into effective analytics solutions. </li> <li>Strong focus on data accuracy, quality, and performance. </li></ul>Communication & Stakeholder Management <ul> <li>Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. </li> <li>Comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders and end users. </li> <li>Strong workshop facilitation and requirements gathering skills. </li></ul>Problem Solving & Delivery <ul> <li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. </li> <li>Ability to work independently and manage assigned deliverables. </li> <li>Proactive in identifying risks, dependencies, and potential migration challenges. </li> <li>Results-oriented with a strong focus on quality and business outcomes. </li></ul>Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is an experienced BI Developer with strong expertise in both Amazon QuickSight and Qlik, and a proven track record of delivering reporting and analytics solutions in enterprise environments. Experience with BI migration projects, particularly moving dashboards and business logic from Qlik to QuickSight, will be highly advantageous. They will be comfortable working closely with client stakeholders, capable of independently driving migration activities, and focused on ensuring seamless transition, reporting accuracy, and successful project outcomes.
