What You’ll Do
  • Manage the finalization of misconduct and grievance cases, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Assign and oversee investigations into misconduct cases and grievances.
  • Prepare for and represent the department in disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • Conduct analysis of misconduct and grievance statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate and coordinate collective bargaining functions and represent the GPAA at relevant forums.
  • Provide expert advice on labour law, policies, and procedures to support decision-making processes.
  • Develop training programs and resources for employees and management on labour relations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Labour Relations Unit, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
What You’ll Need
  • A relevant 3-year National Diploma/Degree in Human Resource, Labour Relations, or Industrial Relations.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource or Employee Relations environment, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with PERSAL system.
  • Strong knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
