Komatsu has an opportunity for a technically minded individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving equipment to assist the artisan with general functions as an Assistant Artisan III with at least 8 months’ experience in an Earthmoving Equipment environment to join our team at the Namakwa Sands Branch.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Machine and component assembly and disassembly
  • Component and machine cleaning
  • Basic maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • May be required to drive Komatsu service vehicles
  • Operation of Komatsu machines (where trained and authorised)
  • Willingness to work overtime and standby when required and to travel as needed
  • Assist artisans in all functional areas
  • Use of basic tools and understanding of their application

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with technical subjects or NQF Level 4
  • 6 months general workshop, technical environment experience /experience working on earthing moving machines.
  • Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence, Code 08 (advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of SHE and the Health & Safety Act
  • Safety‑orientated mindset due to machine and component movement
  • Passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery
