About the Role

As Animal Science Lead, you will be at the forefront of applied research, leveraging transcriptomics and AI-powered tools to help our clients develop more effective, science-based solutions. You will collaborate with R&D teams across the animal health and nutrition industry, guiding the scientific process from study design to impactful communication of insights.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and execute transcriptomics-based R&D projects that generate tangible value for clients and the animal protein industry.

· Analyze omics and phenotypic data using advanced, user-friendly bioinformatics tools, in collaboration with internal and external experts.

· Translate complex scientific findings into actionable insights via reports, manuscripts, and presentations tailored to industry stakeholders.

· Drive the development of AI-powered workflows, gene panels, and predictive models, using LLMs, statistical approaches, and cutting-edge machine learning methods.

· Manage all project phases, from scientific advisory to sample logistics, lab coordination, data interpretation, and client communication.

· Represent BIOFRACTAL at scientific conferences, publish original research, and serve as a thought leader in animal science and AI.

· Support business development by engaging with technical experts, R&D leaders, and scientists during conferences and customer meetings.

· Mentor and lead team members as the company continues to grow.

What We’re Looking For

· A proactive, collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes ownership of outcomes.

· Deep knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and health, with a proven track record of using omics tools for applied research.

· A passion for AI and a forward-thinking mindset — eager to adopt and lead the use of next-generation technologies to push the boundaries of productivity, insight generation, and scientific impact.

· Ability to independently solve complex problems, source solutions creatively, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

· PhD in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a closely related field – this is a fundamental requirement.

· Proven experience conducting applied research in animal nutrition and health with farm animals – hands-on, practical expertise is critical for success in this role.

· Prior training in transcriptomics, data science, physiology, or artificial intelligence (AI) is highly valued and will strengthen your impact in the role.
