Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Alaska, USA

Hourly Rate: $20-30 per hour. Correlating annual compensation range (based on experience): $73,000 – $110,000 per year, plus bonuses and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Assess data center model answers to support business processes, communicate business value, and establish innovation strategies.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing virtual infrastructure (ESX, ESXi).
  • Develop scripts in Python and PowerShell to automate infrastructure tasks.
  • Audit new product designs to ensure compliance with AXP standards.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and apply them to current challenges.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive project management, system readiness, deployment, and functional testing.
  • Work with global teams to support various infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to multiple infrastructure initiatives concurrently.
  • Troubleshoot accessibility issues and provide resolutions.
  • Document system designs, procedures, and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years in a related engineering discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience with VMware vCenter, ESXi.
  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining servers (Cisco, HP, Dell, Intel).
  • Hands‑on experience with firmware/driver upgrades.
  • Strong scripting background in Python and/or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to automate daily infrastructure tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
