About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Aircraft Mechanic to join their line maintenance team serving the aviation hub in Soweto . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled checks, troubleshooting and repairing aircraft systems, and ensuring aircraft are ready for flight in a timely and safe manner. You will work within a dynamic environment, collaborating with pilots, dispatchers, and other maintenance personnel to maintain the operational readiness of our fleet. This position demands a strong technical aptitude, adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and servicing of aircraft on the flight line. Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults on various aircraft systems. Carry out pre-flight and post-flight inspections, identifying and reporting any discrepancies. Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance instructions. Complete all maintenance tasks accurately and document them in the aircraft logbooks and maintenance records. Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and aviation authority standards. Respond to AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situations as required, to ensure swift resolution. Requirements Qualified Aircraft Mechanic with a relevant trade test or certification. Proven experience in line maintenance on commercial or general aviation aircraft. Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, and avionics. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and test gear. Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
