Account Executive, Alternative Health & Advocacy

Job Description:

  • Serve as a primary interface for Meritain products and services and create demand with customers
  • Develop and execute account management strategies for strategic, multi-geography or high-tier books of business
  • Manage service-level discussions, process improvements, benefits-plan operations, service-gap identification, root-cause analysis, and solution development
  • Develop and execute renewals to achieve margin, customer-retention, membership, persistency, and renewal targets
  • Prepare clients for renewals by explaining benefit-plan cost drivers, offering cost-reduction solutions, and delivering renewals to clients and producers
  • Formulate complex financial recommendations and present them to management
  • Support New Business Sales with finalist meetings for new business and opportunities
  • Assess competitive environments and develop sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities
  • Create and execute strategic cross-functional annual business plans and customer account strategies
  • Retain and cultivate a profitable book of business through renewal coordination
  • Collaborate across Meritain and business functions to understand customer needs and address key issues
  • Lead Customer Strategy & Relationship Management for day-to-day contacts, senior management, and key decision makers
  • Lead and manage producer relationships for assigned customers
  • Coordinate communications regarding Meritain business announcements and operational support
  • Own financial management, renewal strategies, upsell activities, pricing, negotiations, and profitability alignment for the assigned portfolio
  • Present customer reporting with analytics, trends, and recommendations for additional programs and services
  • Lead client presentations and communicate with internal and external parties
  • Travel to offsite locations for in-person meetings as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience as an Account Manager or Account Executive
  • Experience within the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) industry, health plan, healthcare consulting, or employee benefits environment
  • Demonstrated success collaborating across highly matrixed organizations and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives without direct authority
  • Desire to contribute to organizational growth, team development, and long-term strategic planning
  • Health & Life license required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of advocacy, navigation, care management, centers of excellence, or alternative health solution models preferred
  • Experience with strategic vendor, advocacy, or navigation partner relationships preferred
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external parties
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations for in-person meetings as needed
